We understand the worries involved when it comes to handing over a phone to a child. That’s why Pinwheel partnered up with Clyde to provide you the option to insure your phones for a stress-free experience with your kid’s first smartphone! Here are some quickfire questions to help clarify any concerns you may have!
Who are eligible to apply for insurance?
You can be covered by Clyde within 60 days after your Pinwheel phone gets delivered to your shipping address. This includes customers who are upgrading or replacing their old Pinwheel phones with a non-refurbished model. With that being said, please note that refurbished phones are NOT eligible for coverage.
What does Clyde cover?
- Drops and spills — Protection against damage due to the phone being accidentally dropped or spilled water into.
- Mechanical failure — Device failure with its basic functions: things like failing to charge or the phone’s screen has stopped working as it should. Clyde will pretty much cover issues like these if its due to a defect on the device itself, and not caused by the customer!
- Normal wear & tear — Things that do not function as they would when you purchased the phone. For example, if any of the Pinwheel phone’s buttons require multiple presses for them to work, Clyde would consider that as regular wear and tear!
- Power surge protection — If your phone starts to malfunction due to a power surge!

I purchased a Pinwheel phone but decided to purchase Clyde’s insurance plan after check-out. How do I purchase a plan?

My phone broke and I need to file a claim. Where can I do that?
You can access your Clyde account and file a complaint via their portal: https://www.hiclyde.com/login. You can also contact their customer care team in your Clyde portal.
How many claims can I make with my plan?
Please note that you can only file one claim per warranty! Once the contract has been fulfilled, you’ll need to purchase another insurance plan in order to be eligible for another claim.
My claim got approved, now what?
Clyde will be sending you a 100% off coupon which you can use to purchase a replacement device from Pinwheel’s customer care team. If you decide you want to upgrade from your previous phone’s model, you can also use this coupon and pay for the price difference between the broken phone and the new one!
If I upgraded my Pinwheel phone, do I need to purchase another plan?
If you upgraded your phone but haven’t used your warranty just yet, we can refund your original plan so you can purchase a new one for the new device!
What if Pinwheel has updated to new phone models since I purchased mine and I need a replacement?
No worries — you can use the code that you’ll get from Clyde to get a replacement and we’ll send you the updated versions of either the Plus, Slim, or Rugged, depending on the one you originally have!
