In order to assist you with adding a cellular service to your brand new Pinwheel phone, we've done a bit of research about some of the carrier brands that may be able to hook you up with service. If you’re looking to add your Pinwheel phone to your current provider, or maybe sign up with a new one, please check the article below!
Note: About the Genesis 4
Since the Genesis 4 is under the same manufacturer as the Genesis 3, we assume that it will work with your carrier so long as the Genesis 3 was previously compatible. We're still in the process of confirming if the Genesis 4 has any issues with supposedly compatible carriers, so please feel free to inform our Customer Care team if you encounter any issues.
Rogers Communications
While the Slim 5 works without any issues, the Plus 3 only got 1 band available out of 4 for 5G, so you might encounter some signal issues depending on your location. However, the Plus 3 shouldn't have any issues running on 4G.
We've also tested our Pixel 8 to be compatible, based on their band compatibility. We reached out to ask about the Slim 6, Plus 4, and Pixel 9. Unfortunately, they couldn't confirm its compatibility until they put a Rogers SIM card on the specific phone, but reassures us that as long as the devices are unlocked, they should work.
A customer has informed us that the Genesis 3 is no longer supported as of July 31, 2025. The Genesis 4 is no longer supported as of January 2026.

Bell Mobility
According to their IMEI checker, the Plus 4, Plus 4, Slim 5, Slim 6, Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 should be supported by Bell, but please make sure to check if Bell is available in your area via their coverage map here.
We have reports of Bell no longer supporting the Genesis phones as of January 2026.
Telus
Telus supports the Slim 5/6, as well as the Plus 3/4 and the Pixel 8.

Freedom Mobile
The Genesis 3, Slim 5, Plus 3, and Pixel 8 are compatible, according to their checker. We've recently reached out to confirm the compatibility of the Slim 6 and Plus 4 and found that they are not fully compatible and might encounter some errors. The Pixel 9 is fully compatible.
As always, make sure to consult their coverage map for availability in your area.

Not compatible with Pinwheel phones since they only support phones purchased in Canada.
Koodo Mobile
A customer recently reached out to Koodo's customer care about the compatibility of their Slim 5. Although Koodo is under Telus, they claim that our Slim 5 isn't compatible with their service. We highly suggest you reach out to Koodo's customer service team first before switching.

Fido
Fido is under Rogers Communications. They have confirmed that the Genesis, Slim 5, Plus 3, and Pixel 8 should work with their service as long as they are unlocked (all Pinwheel phones are unlocked!)

Public Mobile
We had customers test Public Mobile's service with their Genesis and Plus 3 phones and we can confirm it is working. We can also confirm that some of our Pixel 8 and Slim 5 users have been using their services without any reported issue.

Cityfone
Just like Fido, they have confirmed that the phones will work as long as the Genesis, Slim 5, Plus 3, and Pixel 8 are unlocked (they are!)

Virgin Plus
Virgin Plus uses Bell's infrastructure, and we can confirm that our users have been using the Plus 4 and Slim 5/6. It is also safe to assume that the Pixel 8 will work, since it works with Bell. Support for Genesis 3 has recently been ended by Virgin Plus. We have not confirmed if it is the same for Genesis 4.

Saskatchewan Telecommunications
So far, we have only confirmed the Genesis 2 for SaskTel. If you find that your Pinwheel device is working with SaskTel, please let us know so we can update this article!

Lucky Mobile
We've tested all our current models via their IMEI checker and they all work with Lucky Mobile: Genesis 3, Slim 6, Plus 4, and our Pixel 9

These are the carriers we haven't tested nor have we heard from since reaching out. If you are willing to try out these providers, please contact Pinwheel's Customer Care and we'll be more than happy to coordinate with you!
