Need more space on your Pinwheel device, or do you simply want to back up photos and videos from your phone to the computer? How about copying these files from the PC to your Pinwheel Phone? Aside from uploading/downloading your files to a Google Drive, file transfer is another way to do this!
-
Connect the phone to your computer using the provided USB charging cable.
-
Once it’s plugged in, swipe down from the top of the screen to show the notifications. Look for “Android System. Charging this device via USB” and tap it to open.
(NOTE: Some devices will require to swipe down and tap twice to access the correct settings.)
-
Make sure to select “File Transfer.” Depending on the phone model, the wording may be a bit different:
-
Rugged 2 (Armor X8) and Rugged 3 (Armor X10): “File Transfer”
-
Slim 3 (BLU G50) and Slim 4 (BLU G50 Plus): “Media device (MTP).” (File Transfer is written under this option.)
-
Slim 5 (BLU G91S): “File Transfer/Android Auto”
-
Slim 2 (Samsung A01), Plus 1 (Samsung A32), Plus 2 (Samsung A13), Plus 3 (Samsung A14), and Pixel (Pixel 6A): “Transferring files”
-
Rugged 2 (Armor X8) and Rugged 3 (Armor X10): “File Transfer”
-
After that, you should be able to view the files from your computer.
NOTE: As mentioned, enabling file transfer will let you back up files, and even transfer them from a computer to the phone - even non-photos. However, the Pinwheel phone can only open image and video files, since it doesn't have a file browser.
IMPORTANT: For Mac users, Android File Transfer is no longer available for download. You will need to find an alternative before you can follow the steps above as is.
